SuperTux is a free open source 2D platform video game inspired by Nintendo's Super Mario Bros. It was initially developed by Bill Kendrick and is currently maintained by The SuperTux Team.

Instead of Mario, the protagonist of this video game is Tux, the mascot of the Linux kernel, who goes to rescue Penny from the clutches of Nolok (another reference to Linux, making puns on Nolock.) Other references are that in some versions Tux collects Linux distributions and crushes rival BSOD's and portables.

SuperTux is released under the free GPL 3.0 license.
